As part of his state budget, Gov. Charlie Baker has again proposed to cap the amount of sick-time that many state employees can accrue at 1,000 hours, the equivalent of six months’ worth of work.

Baker first proposed the limits in May 2016 after a Business Journal investigation revealed that top administrators at state colleges and universities were accruing enough paid time off to take home six-figure payouts upon their retirement.
