Health insurance giant Aetna Inc. this week confirmed long-rumored speculation that it’s looking to move its headquarters out of Hartford, Connecticut, saying it’s “in negotiations with several states regarding a headquarters relocation.”

Aetna (NYSE: AET) declined to specify with which states it’s negotiating. But both Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin and Connecticut Gov. Dannell Malloy referred to Boston and New York by name when speaking about Aetna’s decision, with Bronin saying “We…
