When Woburn-based Terrafugia Inc. announced last year that it would be acquired by a Chinese automobile conglomerate, the company emphasized that it was not be giving up its dream of building flying cars.

Now Terrafugia and its new owner, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, are doubling down on that mission with plans to hire at least 50 more employees by the end of the year. Those new hires will be in addition to the 75 employees that Terrafugia has already hired in the past year.
